LA Homecoming

What a lovely homecoming! It was wonderful to return to Los Angeles after all this time and to be celebrated among friends and community! The Barnes and Noble Santa Monica book signing was a grand success! I had the pleasure of seeing students from three of the film schools where I taught, but also old classmates from my own film school and my old writers group! Shout out to OBS! I was deeply grateful to have my teacher and directing lab community there as well. And then my dear friend who brought her daughters who got me my first film teaching gig at the Santa Monica library! Such memories! What an amazing reunion and walk down memory lane this was! Barnes and Noble staff were so welcoming and author-celebrating. They were thrilled to have me there and how appropriate that I had the cozy nook of maps and travel for my book showcasing international films.
I also can’t say enough how grateful I was to have Lorena. Everyone should be so lucky to have a marketing person who is as gracious and caring as Lorena!
I wished I had gotten the chance to write more friends in LA! That’s the reminder to start the newsletter that Ted Hope encourages on his substack.
